Dear LEP Community,

These last two months we’ve been busy visiting the Imperial Valley in California, with trainings in San Bernardino and the Coachella Valley. We are humbled and honored to share in community with the people we have met, learned and grown with. As we witness one after another injustice nationally and internationally and the constant attacks of the current administration, we are energized by the resistance and resiliency of all our people. We felt so welcomed and impressed by the learnings of the group! It was great to hear all of their stories, experiences and reflections.

We are carrying this energy forward with Central Valley and Inland Empire Latinx Leadership trainings, and are excited to provide this space for the communities in this region. Please help us get the word out by sharing these upcoming FREE–yes, they’re free!–trainings with your colleagues, networks and communities. If you haven’t taken the training and are interested in attending please click below for more information or to register for the upcoming trainings.

On this 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s assassination, and as we honor Cesar Chavez on his birthday, we are also energized by the beautiful and powerful poetry of Lyla June. Reminding us of the legacy of social justice and resistance for all oppressed people, her walk as a musician, poet, anthropologist, educator, community organizer and public speaker carries the work of decolonization forward in so many generative ways.
