We had an amazing group come together from all over Northern California to attend the Latino Equity Project’s “Decolonize Our Future” training for people who work or serve in government. We worked closely with the California Government Alliance on Race and Equity team to recruit and build on the important work GARE is doing to form a network of people in government who are working to achieve racial equity and advance opportunities for all. Please visit the GARE website to learn more about their work in California and around the country.

The Office of Environmental Justice and Tribal Affairs at the Department of Toxic Substances Control strives to support and empower people throughout the State of California. Having the opportunity to attend the LEP training and discuss and reflect upon the role of race within the Latino community allowed us to better understand, engage, and serve la comunidad in our mission to build a more equitable environmental future.
